Planetary Apothecary: An Eclipsing Opposition

October 28th, we have the final lunar eclipse along the Taurus*Scorpio axis at 5 degrees in Taurus. This will be a partial lunar eclipse, blotting out the full Moon partially, nonetheless potent and important to a nearly 2-year storyline of this specific eclipse cycle.

Being the final eclipse, and a lunar one at that, we can expect closure and shutting the book to a story that began first in November 2021. It is important to look at the houses that Scorpio and Taurus occupy, for the themes, the topics, the situation will become clearer. General themes around security, relationships, value, and sustainability come to mind. Taurus is the sign of what is tangible, what we bring into our world and can hold form. It is the archetype of the gardener, tending patiently to the coming harvest. Scorpio is more hidden, elusive and mysterious. It is the archetype of the detective, rummaging through the obscure clues. This cycle may of started out confusing, values and philosphies shifting, facts and hidden truths surfacing. This last eclipse should eventually bring new form to new perspectives, realigned principles, and hopefully provide a more stable foundation to an aspect of your world that has been out of order.

Yet there will be hurdles to jump before we can say adios to this eclipse cycle.

The ruler of the eclipse, Venus, is currently in Virgo, and not her most dignified position. Venus can struggle here, especially when it comes to personal security and self-confidence. Venus in her own nature is sensual and tactile, here in Virgo she becomes much more heady and confined to rigid boxes. Venus has been through a lot in the last few months, and her personal alignment currently is self-doubting and critical.

Day of the lunar eclipse, we receive a pretty intense transit in the same sign axis of Scorpio and Taurus, involving the planets Mars, Mercury and Jupiter. I am not going to lie, this planetary alignment can be very inflammatory and ungrounding. On the collective level, I would not be surprised to see an intensification around war and conflict. In regards to the personal, micro-battles could also ignite.

Mars and Mercury are just a day out of exact conjunction at 12 degrees, and both are in exact opposition to Jupiter in Taurus. Mars and Mercury in Scorpio can show up as heated wars, sharp-tongued and steely squabbles, and mental stirrings nearing near paranoia at the worst. At its best, this is an inquisitive mind, a strong and passionate goal setter, and fierce determined warrior, eager and able to get your side of the story heard. This is the mark of a good debater, strong in mind and endurance. When both of these planets oppose the great expander, Jupiter, we can see all of these themes magnified to a point of loosing the plot, boundaries blurred, deceptions revealed, and not knowing when to wave the white flag.

With this alignment occurring during a lunar eclipse, we must be cautious of how our mind will want to take over and take the wheel. Insecurities will be at an all time high. What explodes out of the bottle may be hard to put back in. These energies can be felt building into the 26th, peaking on the 28th and waning into the 31st.

Scorpio is a sign that can hold immense amount of emotion in place, locked deep in the heart abyss. When Mars and Mercury arrive in this tavern it can ignite mind and heart, commanding it to rise up. Jupiter can be the breath blowing expansive wind on the fire, blurring boundaries, creating an unstable environment.

Jupiter could prevail throughout all of this since the Moon touches this planet first after the eclipse, there is a path forward, and one built on Jupiter’s wisdom. It may show up to be raw in honesty, unfiltered and overflowing and fierce in handling. Certain difficult situations require complex solutions, and my optimism is eyeing the bitter pill. If you are looking for ultimate resolve, real honesty, or restoration, this planetary combination can prescribe the miracle cure. This could look like swallowing harsh realities that ultimately are the only way out, such as an intervention, reperceiving your own role in the conflict as an instigator therefore lending new perspective on fresh approach, and taking responsibility overall for a emotional situation that needs maturity and rational sense. Specific dosage recommended. Yet I do think that this transit, coupled with the eclipse, is the exact spirited, fiery medicine certain life situations demand for resolution, and most importantly growth.

Stay safe, stay grounded, always approach with humane love.
