Uranian TKO

A Uranian Full Moon profects in the sign of Taurus on Friday,November 15, 2024, at 4:29pm est. This Full Moon will immediately make contact with Uranus by conjunction, which will induce shock waves through the Moon’s own rays. If the Moon was a bell, and you were to clang it with a rod, you could imagine the waves of the moon vibrating with sheer force, emitting out to civilization, this is Friday’s energy. On top of that, we could blend this unpredictable, possibly erratic lunation with the fixed star Algol. Algol is a bright fixed star that sits at the upper left of Pleiades star cluster and Perseus constellation. Algol is connected to the slayed head of Medusa, also known as the demon eye, or the gorgon’s head. To the naked eye, it almost looks like it is winking at you, like its letting you in on a deep universal secret. This is a powerful and complex fixed star. The contact between Uranus, the Full Moon and Algol could have the potential to usher in accidents, unforseen violence, but could also bring in victory and give an edge to competitors. Which brings me to the main point of this astro exploration.

Youth vs Old Guard

On the night of this lunation and very close to the Full Moon being at its peak, a well-anticipated battle will be taking place. Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul. This has been an highly awaited fight, originally birthed in March. The two fighters agreed to a July date, but Tyson had to reschedule due to a health concern.

This Friday night marks the return of “The Baddest Man on the Planet” stepping into the ring with Jake Paul, 31 years younger. Tyson has not fought since November 28, 2020, a fight that originally pulled him out of retirement. He will go up against Jake Paul, who is 31 years younger than Iron Mike, and is known as “the disruptor”. Jake Paul also was on the fight ticket that night of November 28, 2020 although he was the co-event. Tyson’s fight against Roy Jones Jr. was declared undecided and Paul won his event.

This 2020 date was Tyson’s real first fight out of retirement, and Paul was still fairly new to the boxing world. Being on the same bill in 2020, I believe planted the seeds of the 2024 challenge. Paul says he had a shamanic vision of the two stepping into the ring and immediately reached out to Tyson, who agreed. Tyson hasn’t fought since 2020.

Before we move forward, it will be helpful to get a snapshot of each boxer’s birth chart.

Iron Mike

Mike Tyson is a Leo rising with Mercury present. Solar ruled and the trickster Mercury habitating the first house of body, identity, personality, health. Iron Mike is an absolute beast dominating the boxing scene, the king of kings, in true Leo fashion. Mike has referred to a dual personality within him, which is quite mercurial. He has mentioned in many podcasts that when he starts training, the killer awakens. His real hot spots in the birth chart include a MC degree (which denotes career) that is conjunct his 23° North Node in Taurus, Venus is sextile from the superior position to Mercury, both sitting at 4° respectively. Mike’s Mars and Sun also form an antiscia, a secret conjunction from the 11th to the 12th house, fueling the ferocious competitor. Tyson will also undergo an exact Saturn return soon, with it sitting at 29° Pisces. Tyson also has his Lot of Fortune at 1 ° Aquarius, which is relevant to Pluto’s current position.

Jake El Gallo Paul

Jake Paul, former child YouTube sensation turned boxer, is a Taurus Rising with a natal 20° Taurus Moon that is nearly conjoined his 22° Ascendant.  The Moon has a great deal of dignity being exalted. His Capricorn Sun sits in a heavy stellium also in his 9th house, which includes 4° Mercury, 9° Venus, 27° Sun, 28° Lot of Spirit, and 29° Jupiter. Paul’s MC, his career marker sits right at 0° Aquarius. Mars in Libra and Saturn in Aries also sit in opposition to one another.  The Mars and Saturn opposition certainly show his propensity to work hard and almost always quite independent, denoting that Saturn in the 12H of Aries. If you look at his past business ventures, most are him investing his time and money and solely pursuing it. Yes he surrounds himself with a paid team, whether it be producers or coaches, but it really is his idea and his own personal fortitude that keeps him moving forward. He has also spoken to how Hollywood has derailed his own sense of identity, and it was boxing alone that returned him to a more disciplined and focused life. Yet when you see him in regards to boxing, it seems like quite an isolating experience. Coping more a monk’s philosophy of daily training and disciplined grind. Paul will also have a Saturn return quite soon, 2° Aries, which is quite close to Tyson’s own Saturn. Which can denote a new maturation phase in both of their life’s.

ASTROLOGICAL ECHOES

The two charts have some real synergy, including their Taurus placements that both will be intensified and raised up on Friday under this Uranian Full Moon. What else is quite interesting is that both fighters fought under the same bill on Nov 28, 2020, right before the Saturn-Jupiter conjunction, which began a new synodic cycle between the slowest of the inner planets. Tyson was the main event and Jake Paul was the co-main event. The Moon was also in Taurus on the night of their fights, just around the same degree. Within a day, that Moon would shift into a Gemini lunar eclipse, lighting up Paul’s 10th house. When this fight takes place on Friday the 15th, Saturn will not only be stationed direct, but Saturn and Jupiter will also begin forming the second opening square in this cycle, with Saturn in the dominant position. The opening square will often present as a conflict or a cross-road for decision making. The first Saturn*Jupiter square occurred August 19, 2024. I found it fascinating that the two held a press conference at Fanatics Fest NYC on August 18th together, riling one another up for the fight. Saturn will also be squaring Tyson’s natal Moon the night of the fight.

Symbollically, a Saturn*Jupiter cycle has a way of toppling the old guard and bringing in a new, more dynamic system. Jupiter, a very fertile planet confronting Saturn, the harbinger of death, wants to bring in life. The opening square often proves Jupiter’s agenda to be a challenge, almost like he has to get his sea legs before he can finally stand and fight.

JUDGEMENT OF THE STARS

A snapshot of the stars on the night of the lunar fight.

I will admit making a solid astrological prediction has been tough. I am not a seasoned fan of boxing, but I find this particular moment fascinating paired with strong Full Moon over two natal charts that have excitable natal planetary placements in Taurus. (Oddly, I also did a random deep dive on Jake Paul’s brother, Logan, earlier this year. I honestly know nothing of these two, but it has been intriguing researching their charts and lives).

URANIAN FULL MOON & TYSON

First, seeing the Uranian Full Moon occur over Tyson’s career degree and North Node, makes me wonder if this is really his last fight. He came out of retirement for this. His progressed Moon is currently in the Capricorn Gibbous phase, a progressed moon phase which began in 2011 in Leo. 2011 marks a period where he begins to reflect on his own legacy and within a couple years starts a foundation and a boxing promoting company, and writes a book. This fight has returned a brighter spotlight to his legacy. Win or Lose. Progressed Mars, the warrior also just entered his 1st house Leo, which can bring in a newly charged fight, or a fully amped spirit to tackle one’s health. It also triggers the Venus*Mercury natal placement, perhaps driving his competitive edge over his opponent.

When I look at Tyson’s annual profection for 2024, he is in a 11th house year, Gemini (Mercury ruled) of good fortune, dreams and wishes, supported by allies and those who lift him up and out of retirement. This makes Mercury the Lord of the Year (LOY). Mercury will be important to watch in terms of his overall year energy. He is certainly in damn good fighting shape. Mercury rules games and markets.  Mercury oversees the swift feet of fighters and competition. Both fighters stand to make sweeping profits from this fight. Mercury natally lives in Tysons 1st house, and Mars and Venus both live in Gemini, and Venus makes contact through sextile to Mercury. His solar return chart for 2024 has Virgo on the rising, which again echoes the importance of Mercury. Mercury has a lot to say this year, especially in terms of competing. Mercury in the solar chart, sits in his 11th house Cancer in the solar chart. Mercury makes contact by inferior position to that Taurean hot spot of 24° by sextile, a kiss from the universe. Mars also sits in Taurus at 14.56°, though in detriment but dominants Venus the ruler by sextile, who also reside in Cancer at 15.08°. So we see some mixed testimony.

On the day of the fight, Mars will be in Tyson’s first house, over his natal Mercury, his lord of the year. Mars is his out-of-sect malefic, so although this can be great for motivation, drive and competition, it can show up as inflammatory health issues too. Another nickname he was given was Kid Dynamite, which could certainly be called forth under an explosive Full Moon paired with a too-hot-to handle Mars in Leo.

We also cannot ignore Pluto who is conjunct his Lot of Fortune at 1° Aquarius, and is currently making his underworld journey back to this position. The Full Moon and Uranus both hit directly over his North Node and MC in his 10th house, bringing his whole career into sudden light. Again he has not been seen in a public fight for four years.

Will this full illumination over Agol, bring out the full killer, Iron Mike?

Trainer Kevin Rooney wraps Kid Dynamite’s lethal fists. 1985

A recent quote from a Netflix special, Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson, “Haha. There’s a fundamental difference between me and Jake. He’s a manufactured killer. Television and the papers made him a killer, he’s manufactured. I’m a natural-born killer. That’s the difference.”

A snapshot of the stars on the night of the lunar fight.

URANIAN FULL MOON & PAUL

For Jake Paul, this Full Moon in his first house, occurring directly over his natal, exalted Moon is literally quite shocking. The 1st house and the Moon both ruled over the body and health, but also our relationship to ourself and the world at large. The Moon speaks to security and nourishment, and our inner world. One wonders if this fight will have a shocking result on his own health, but maybe imparts a new orientation to his own relationship with boxing. We cannot miss Algol over his natal Moon which can certainly bring in bodily harm, damage, a real blow to his head. He has been undergoing a real Plutonian revolution in his 9th house stellium, as Pluto has progressed through it nailing each planet. It is reported that his whole boxing career began in August 2018, and this is right when Pluto begins to walk through the last 10 degrees of his Capricorn stellium, and Uranus had just entered his 1st house of self and identity. This was also the time period where eclipses were occurring in his 10th house. Now that Uranus has lit up his Moon, one wonders if this fight will illuminate or bring his hard work into full bloom. Will this dynamic Taurus lunation elevate Paul?

Jake’s progressed Moon is at a first quarter phase, and it just enters Taurus at 25° on Sept 5, 2024. Which to me is wild, since this is where the Full Moon is occuring. This shows for certain his first real cross-road or conflict of his career, it is for sure marking a turning point, one way or another, fighting the legend Tyson. He has received a lot of criticism and doubt from the public. This also echoes the challenges of a Saturn*Jupiter opening square.

Paul is in a 4th house profection year, ruled by the Sun. This year predicts to be centered around all things solar, including gaining rank, attempting to dethrone a king and moving closer to personal goals. We cannot dismiss that his Sun, which lives in Capricorn surround by a stellium of planets, is heavily being influenced by Pluto currently. Mars on this date will be hidden in the 4th house, and also opposing his natal Uranus in the 10th.

Saturn The Old Guard vs Uranus The Disruptor

THE CALL

Who will dominate? What do the stars predict? This has been a challenge, but I do feel like the overall synodic cycle that originally opened this fight up in 2020, and now brings us to the opening squares, is more in the youth’s favor. Jupiter overcoming Saturn? Yet I still am not fully convinced Paul will win. Saturn is still in the dominate position, teaching the youth a lesson. Perhaps Paul just eeks it out, but not without altering damage. To me it almost looks like Paul could suffer a pretty intense blow that will make him or force him to reflect on this career path. The Pluto symbolism in his chart suggests buried treasure but not without real work.

Paul coined himself The Disruptor, which is quite Uranian, and natally he has Uranus in his 10th house of Aquarius. Perhaps this Uranian Full Moon is his own revolution for the boxing world and all those who doubt his level of skill.

One other thing I will note is this interpretation concerning a Native’s Moon conjunct the fixed star Algol found on the website Astrology King,“Natives with this conjunction, can develop the ability to gain victory over their competitors. However, they can also experience setbacks prior to their victory. The natives will be dogged, indefatigable, continually striving to reach their goals, and never at a loss for words or expressions. Illness of a sublime nature possible.”

I do think this will be Tyson’s last major fight, with the Full Moon bringing this cycle to fruition. What else is interesting is that in 2020, Tyson created Mike Tyson’s Legends Only League, a place retired professionals could go to and compete with other retired athletes in their sport. This opening Saturn square may push him further into seriously pursuing this league.

Both athletes are about to head into their Saturn returns, for Paul it will be his first and Tyson’s second. Both will be revalutating in the next year there next step on their journey.

Casting a horary chart for a quick simple yes or no

YES OR NO?

I did cast a horary chart. My question was will Tyson win the fight? With it cast, it did show Jupiter, which is Tyson (1st house, Sagittarius rising) in his opponents house, Gemini in the 7th. Reminder Jupiter is in his detriment, despite mutual reception with Mercury. This does suggest Paul will win. I could also see the mutual reception of Mercury and Jupiter as an undecided call.

Regardless, I am excited to see how it turns out. It is hard for me to see Tyson actually losing, but I think that is exactly what I am prediciting. I also do feel like real physical bodily harm for Paul is on the table. With Saturn ruling this opening square to Jupiter, the younger fighter is certainly undergoing a real lesson either way by the King.

The element of Uranus promises to bring about an unseen outcome. Maybe its a win for Tyson, but then he is caught doping or vice versa. Perhaps it is a draw, reflected in Mercury and Jupiter’s mutual reception of detriment.

This is all astrological fun and games. Let me know what you think or predict before Friday’s fight. This is always a fun way to learn prediction, together!
