Obscured by Clouds

Full Moon in Gemini, with the ruler of the lunation, Mercury, squaring Neptune in Pisces. Clarity is hard to access, indecision haunts.

Monday, November 27th, a full Moon in Gemini occurs at 4:15 am EST. This lunation is ruled by Mercury who resides on the other side of the sky with the Sun and Mars in Sagittarius. The Mars*Saturn square is still relevant, and on this very day Mercury also squares Neptune in Pisces.

Full Moons in nature attempt to luminate that which is hidden, or shine a brighter light of order or completion on issues that may be obscured by confusion. Yet with the Neptune square hitting the ruler of the full Moon by a hard aspect, clarity or truth may be hard to decipher, clouded by Neptune’s swirling presence.

The tarot card that corresponds with this decan is 8 of Swords, the image shows a woman blindfolded and encircled by swords, which represent our thinking function and how we discern truth and facts. This image represents our inability to see clear and make confident decisions, either something is hidden from us, or we resist looking, thinking about it. If we did, we may quite possibly have to take action. Her arms are bound, her eyes are blocked, and her feet don’t quite reach the ground, this seems to be Mercury being obfuscated by Neptune’s mist. Mercury is also doubly challenged, not performing well in the vast fields of Sagittarius, overwhelmed by too many facts, too many opinions, ideas. The fervor, the passion, the grandiosness of it all, overwhelms Mercury and making any sharp dissecting incisions is the challenge.

This Gemini full Moon may ask us where and what are we blinded to? Have we lost our own sense of rational decision making or clear discernment. Have we been overwhelmed by so much information, that the truth is just obscured by Neptunes clouds. Neptune’s entrance into Pisces distinctly marked the rampant rise of social media, and the overwhelm of information running through all channels, 24/7. Neptune can create grand illusions and it can also fill the spirit with deeper yearnings for something more than the rational world can offer at first glance.

This Full Moon may be illuminating an area in our own decision making that has been obscured, swayed, or overrun by emotions or other’s values that we can no longer see the forest through the trees. Yet perhaps this is exactly where we need to start and it reminds us to bring more critical thinking, clearer communication and a centered mind. Perhaps we shut down our socials, others opinions, others values, and gain more ground on what our own truth is, relocating the function of our own mind.
