A Solar Depression
Saturday, Dec 21 at 4:21 am EST, our darkest eve of the year will reach maximum night, and from there our Sun will start his great return. The triumph of light over dark will proceed. What has been building up until then is the struggle within the battle. The Solstice reminds us of what we have been carrying around, waning limbs that weigh us down. Limbs that further anchor us into an inescapable past, robbing us of crucial nutrients for upward growth. The Solstice is a point of inward reflection, a period that permits space to digest what it is we need to release to the underworld so we can live in the outerworld.
Astrology Speaks: Venus Trine Uranus
Astrology Speaks is a reflective series on how the many ways a transit manifests. Whether this be a personal direct experience or an observation on the collective, this is meant to help catalog and understand better how the planetary transits add a qualitative experience to time.

Venus in Capricorn trine Uranus rx in Taurus 24.36°
This transit occured in earth signs, ushering in unique surges of creative and compassionate energy that is dynamic and equally grounding. This energy was building as early as November 30 and can be felt until Dec 5th.
Imagine a lighting bolt hitting a mountain top, the earth will consume this energy, producing a ground current. That energy will travel outwards along the ground surface, and anyone in close proximity will absorb this electrifying shock.
A Coming Light
December 1st marks the beginning of a new month, a New Moon, and Advent season. We welcome the light to lift us up.
Today is the New Moon in Sagittarius, which occurs in the second decan, overseen by the Moon. The double dose of lunar energy in this already mutable, shifting fire sign, is quite helpful when signifying new chapters. The Moon is changeable by nature, and right now the sign of Sagittarius is looking for a hopeful shift. This New Moon has the power to bring in spirited optimism and new energy for stalled out projects.
I Will To Will Thy Will
On November 25th, Mercury stations retrograde at 22°, further increasing mental agitation and nebulous daydreaming. During this retrograde, the action planet, Mars is also slowling down in Leo preparing for his debilitating retrograde on Dec 6th. The two planets associated with speed are now spinning their wheels, and going nowhere fast.
This is a really good period to give over to this time, where the mind seems to be sinking into quicksand. The most fatal step one can make when trapped in the death grip of quicksand is to keep moving. This period from Nov 25th until Dec 5th, any quick solution or attempt to problem solve, may only bury you further. This is where optimistic faith steps in.
Uranian TKO
A Uranian Full Moon profects in the sign of Taurus on Friday,November 15, 2024, at 4:29pm est. This Full Moon will immediately make contact with Uranus by conjunction, which will induce shock waves through the Moon’s own rays. If the Moon was a bell, and you were to clang it with a rod, you could imagine the waves of the moon vibrating with sheer force, emitting out to civilization, this is Friday’s energy. On top of that, we could blend this unpredictable, possibly erratic lunation with the fixed star Algol. Algol is a bright fixed star that sits at the upper left of Pleiades star cluster and Perseus constellation. Algol is connected to the slayed head of Medusa, also known as the demon eye, or the gorgon’s head. To the naked eye, it almost looks like it is winking at you, like its letting you in on a deep universal secret. This is a powerful and complex fixed star. The contact between Uranus, the Full Moon and Algol could have the potential to usher in accidents, unforseen violence, but could also bring in victory and give an edge to competitors. Which brings me to the main point of this astro exploration.
On the night of this lunation and very close to the Full Moon being at its peak, a well-anticipated battle will be taking place. Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul.
Deep dive on both of their charts and the night of the fight, connecting the great Saturn* Jupiter conjunction of 2020.
I make bold predictions here, all in the name of astrology fun!
Plutonic Lessons Learned
Pluto stations direct at 29° Capricorn once last time beginning on October 11, 2024. This will be last the movement in the last degree forward in our lifetime for this planet in Capricorn. Pluto first entered Capricorn in 2008. Wherever Capricorn is in your natal chart, there has been profound exploration, tunneling, reconfiguring to this house. The work has been hard and it has been a long process. As Pluto sets to move out of Capricorn in November, this last pass at the anoretic degree is asking what last insights, what last details need to be wrapped up. This is the finishing work to the house you have been building. Something can be officially ending, a project, a relationship, a business. A phase may be over, the lessons were discovered and learned, and maybe its time to let go of this particular process.
To further investigate the final pass of Pluto in Capricorn, I pulled a tarot card for each RISING sign. The intention for each card was what final lessons need to be realized and wrapped up.
Poisoned Wells
On September 24, 2024, a historic ruling by the United States District Court of the Northern District of California has ordered the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to take regulatory action in regards to the practice of water fluoridation and its levels in our drinking water supply. The court ruled that water fluoridation poses potential health risks to the public, specifically in children and pregnant mothers and their brain development.
I look at the astrological transits not only around this historic federal ruling against fluoride, but also look at the inception birth chart of fluoride entering US water plants.
Lunations of October
October lunations, which include a Libra solar eclipse on the 2nd and a full Moon in Aries on the 17th, are respectively ruled by Venus and Mars. Both lunations together speak to a narrative around what we deeply desire, how we fight for it, and how we orient ourself going forward. There is a lot of watery emotional energy behind these lunations, which can make us feel this with deep passion and drive to transmute our current position.
Piscean Dark Waters
Eclipse season returns! The full Moon in Pisces on September 17th, will be a partial lunar eclipse at 25° Pisces. This partial eclipse kicks off the first of many along the Pisces*Virgo axis. This axis will be highlighting the archetypes of Pisces and Virgo, the dreamer and the realist. These eclipses will explore the light and shadow of both mutable zodiac signs.
Venus On the Ma’at
Venus in Libra seeks balance, she seeks truth, she seeks justice, she seeks order, she seeks understanding. Symbolized by the scales, Libra is similar to Egyptian Goddess Ma’at, who oversees the orderliness to the universe. Weighing her own feather against the heart of each man, calculating humanity’s acts, deeming them worthy of continuing on into the afterlife. Libra seeks order amongst the chaos, attempting to find reason, logic, truth, balance and beauty.
Necessary Weight of Saturn
I have been associating Saturn with an anchor. A heavy, iron weight that wherever it drops in the zodiacal wheel, it has the intention and certainly the power to create a very resonant drag through time.
This space Saturn occupies in our wheel may create a drag in our own life. This may be an area that we feel at times isolated from, attempting to create deeper connection.
Paradox of Virgo
Virgo Season is the call to our inner anchor. Dry, mutable, earth. Virgo hosts the turning of summer, and in turn our own quieting of spirit. Within her season we see bounty of the earth, but also the harvest. We still feel the heat of the dry pulsing Sun, and yet know even this fading fast. Virgo possesses a paradox. This is the haunt of Virgo placements, wanting to expand and contract all at the same time, often creating a very real anxiety. Full of life and aware of death.
Final Scramble Out of Cancer Season
Cancer Season is winding down, but it does not dive quietly into the zodiac sea. On the last day of Cancer Season, July 21, we get a handful of impactful transits, including the second Capricorn Full Moon. Reminder, we bookended Cancer Season with the opening Capricorn Full Moon, June 21 and now we cap it with a second and final Capricorn Full Moon at the 29th degree. What makes this blue Full Moon even more intriguing is that it is essentially paired with Pluto. On July 22, as Leo Season opens, the Sun in Leo will oppose Pluto. Other intriguing transits on July 21: Uranus will square Mercury in Leo, Jupiter and Venus gently aspect one another, Mars and Pluto meet through a trine. Each aspect is not in a vacuum, but further paint a more complex picture of this full Moon lunation.
Spikehorn Meyer
Spikehorn Meyer, born with his natal Sun conjunct Uranus, July 15, 1870. We celebrate his 154th birthday as Mars and Uranus conjoin today, July 15, 2024. This is an exploration of a Uranian figure who was forever encouraged by the revolutionary planet, and as well as the inciting planet Mars. Explore a little Michigan history through astrology. He is also my great-great-great uncle.
Cancer New Moon
The New Moon in Cancer sits at 14 degrees, Jupiter’s exalatation degree, and is bookended by two Capricorn Full Moons. The Moon, the ruling queen of Cancer, is right at home when she touches her king, the Sun. Together the two luminaries mark a new cycle, but a cycle influenced by Saturn, the ruler of both Full Moons on June 21 and July 21st.
I spoke of this New Moon briefly in my Cancer Season post, and even threw some tarot cards for the season. Oddly enough, or not, I threw an inverted 3 of Cups in reflection to this New Moon in Cancer. What is quite interesting is the degree of the New Moon, 14 degrees, which is directly associated with this tarot card. I would like to dive a little deeper into the 3 of Cups and its relation to this Cancer New Moon specifically.
Gaia’s Ghost Ships
Saturn will remain retrograde until November 15, 2024, where it will station direct at 12 degrees. Neptune will remain retrograde until December 7, 2024, where it will station direct at 27 degrees. Both planets retrograding in Pisces are like the ghost ships dropping anchor, dredging the floor of the soul, and kicking back whispers from the shadowlands. Consider Saturn’s sickle making tiny micro-cuts into your deepest fears, disillusions, and wounds. The sickle, like the anchor, stirs and releases the seabed of spirits and shadows in the soul’s oceanfloor. This act which can inflict immense discomfort also is an act of purification. The bloodletting of these retrogrades may be just what you need to purge, heal, and unite the spirit to heart. From here, we can pull anchor, purify the Piscean sea and let our ghosts set sail once and for all.
The Sun’s Lunar Journey
A deep exploration of this upcoming Cancer Season’s astrological transits including a double Full Moon in the sign of Capricorn and Saturn’s retrograde. I also explore through tarot, further insight into what this next month may have in store.
Good Fortune Gemini
Gemini rests on the fulcrum of light and dark, and Mercury the psychopomp loves to journey the realms of night and day, swimming on the surface and diving deeper into the abyss, rising up to the highest point of the xenith and then descending to the underworld. The building of planets in this mutable temple, especially the two benefic planets, have us exploring these internal realms within ourself and at the same time providing us with the perfect big picture insight to negotiate what is best for our mind and relationships.
Zeus Takes Flight
May 25th, Jupiter enters the sign of Gemini, joining the Sun and hot on the heels of Venus who also entered shortly after the Full Moon. The two benefics ride into this masculine air sign, a sign of curiosity, mental stimulation, passionate conversation. Zeus has moved out of the fixed, solid earth of Taurus, where land was king and there was a universal understanding to what worked and what didn’t. Anything that wasn’t useful, sustainable, of value was discarded, and all that did feed and nourish was fed exponentially.
Jupiter’s Grand Finale
The house of Taurus is ripe for sustained growth, and ready to endure all you have been building. Jupiter and the Sun together shine a bright spotlight calling your goals and visions home. As both the Sun and Jupiter move through the final degrees of Taurus together, they are asking you to bring it on home.
