3.13.23 Moon Tracks
The Virgo Full Moon closes out and we get the waning light as we move into the Last Quarter lunar phase on the 14th. Typically waning phases are good for reflection rather than action, this may prove difficult considering other planetary transits occurring simultaneously. This week does not slow down after Saturn’s entrance into Pisces and the Full Moon. There may be a real need for a call of action, but is it a siren’s song?
The Last Quarter Moon goes exact at 24 degrees in Sagittarius and will then oppose Mars at 25 degrees, while at the same time in Pisces we have three planets caught in this cross-fire. Mercury, the Sun and Neptune are all moving into a triple conjunction with one another at 25 degrees and will square Mars and the Moon simultaneously.
Neptune and the Sun joining together can activate deep spiritual undertones, highlighting the sacred, the holy and heart chakra. Neptune possesses the energy to attract one to other realms, this may be through prayer, meditation, or various intoxicants. Neptune transits, one may feel lost in the sublime.
Mercury and the Sun join in cazimi, which has the tendency to bring to light that which was undercover, explosive secrets revealed.
On a collective level or a personal level we may see themes of disclosure, whistleblowing, and heightened discourse. Yet there may also be confusion around the facts with Neptunes presence, distortion around what the story actually is, tread carefully, beware of the siren song that pulls at your heart strings. Maybe not everything is as it seems.
Mars is getting activated by all of this, and Mars wants to move, wants his voice heard and can fire up the environment. Receiving a square from Neptune, planet of spirit, deeper connections, nebulous waters, this can certainly present as amped up activism, conversations around morality, and inflammation around polarizing ideas. One may find themselves binging a little too hard on that which separates consciousness from the mind.
Mars squaring Neptune, Sun and Mercury activates the warrior energy, can inflate ego, can highlight toxic environments that need clearing, can bring to light secret enemies, can push one too far past personal, rational boundaries. Bubbles can be popped during this transit. Information discovered that goes against the prescribed narrative disclosed.
Let us not forget that Saturn is now present as well in Pisces, and though is not by degree conjunct, his presence in Pisces will still cast a shadow. Saturn brings a serious mood to all this planetary partying.
Saturn in Pisces, early degrees, is still searching for any footing here in the spirited waters. Saturn brings a rational, tempered eye, seeking to contain what is floating around in the ether. It may be challenging this week to tamp down the zealot archetype, yet Saturn asks us to do just that. Can we contain ourselves for the moment, let the transits pass, gather the facts and then move into action if needed. Or maybe we find the center in all the frenzy, anchor in and let the wheel spin around us, not over us?
Pisces is a mutable, water sign and Saturn’s energy reminds me of it swimming in brackish waters, not safe for human consumption or agriculture, it must first go through a desalination process. This filtering of water is exactly what Saturn is asking us to do. The process of discernment is beginning. What needs filtering out of our own lives, our own environment, what is safe for personal consumption. Are our fields being watered with purified intentions, or do they need to go through a reverse osmosis? We cannot grow healthy crops with toxic water.
A song that has been on repeat in the last couple weeks that I feel speaks to Saturn’s time in Pisces, is “This Mortal Coil-Song To The Siren”, originally written and performed by Tim Buckley. I have been listening to Elizabeth Fraser’s version. A siren in her own right, she keeps calling me back.
Long afloat on shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle
And you sang
Sail to me
Sail to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am
Here I am
Waiting to hold you
Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was forced out
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks
For you sing, "Touch me not, touch me not, come back tomorrow
Oh my heart, Oh my heart shies from the sorrow"
Well I'm as puzzled as the newborn child
I'm as riddled as the tide
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or should I lie with death, my bride?
Hear me sing, "Swim to me, swim to me, let me enfold you
Here I am, here I am, waiting to hold you”
Our lives represent the mortal coil, a thread representing all our joys and troubles, our trials and tribulations. The thread represents time, and life and the experiences that stitch us further into this mortal realm. They keep calling us back, deeper and further, locking our dharma on the wheel that cycles. Saturn in Pisces, wrapping his thread around our hearts and minds. One that can shake off the mortal coil is essentially overcome by death, which is Saturn’s realm. One that can live in the mystic, spiritual depths of Piscean waters and still exist in the mortal realm, is to learn to live in both this world and to be able to stand apart from the daily suffering. This is another form of shaking off the mortal coil.
Neptune’s presence here in Pisces will call you to come deeper into the water, possibly a siren’s song, but don’t go too far. One must still live and be of this world, Saturn will contain you, but with possible hard work or tribulation. Again, micro-dosing the spirit, we allow the spirit to run through us, not drive over us. Like the fish in Pisces with a cord between the two, we learn to swim both ways, east and west, rising and setting, ebb and flow, swaying to a siren’s song yet never succumbing.
This week’s transits are perfect for contemplating what wells in our lives may need a little more purification before we can begin to draw water for nourishment. Tempted by accute action, call on Saturn for restraint and filteration.
